About Te Awe Library
Te Awe Library is a busy interim cbd library.
It opened in July 2020 following the closure and subsequent reconstruction of the Central Library, which is due to reopen in 2026.
Te Awe refers to white feathers or plumes, an important cultural tohu for ngā tāngata o Taranaki/Te Ātiawa. The name was gifted to the site by Mana Whenua.
