About Khandallah | Tari-kākā Library
Tari-kākā Khandallah Library is a small suburban branch of the Wellington City Libraries network. Situated in the heart of Khandallah village, the library is well-utilised by its community. The library houses a modest lending collection of fiction and non-fiction material catering to all ages. Furthermore, lending collections across the Wellington City Libraries network can be viewed on the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) and are available for borrowing on request, free of charge.
Regular programming includes school holiday activities and a literary book quiz for adults.
Tari-kākā is the original Māori name of Mount Kaukau, the highest hill on Wellington’s western skyline above Khandallah and Johnsonville. The name indicates a place where Kākā snares were once set.
