About Te Whare Pukapuka o Ōtaki | Ōtaki Library

Te Whare Pukapuka o Ōtaki is situated in the centre of this bilingual town and has a warm, welcoming vibe, making it a relaxed community hub.

Te Matahīapo, and Mātahi are the names given to our Māori Collections and provide appreciated resources for our community, from Kōhanga Reo to Te Wānanga o Raukawa. There is a complete set of the Aotea District Māori Land Court Minute Books.

The library offers a range of collections and regular programmes including: Whakaihiihi Tamariki Time sessions for toddlers, Tech Tuesday  and Te Reo Drop-In sessions.

Ngā Wawata, the Ōtaki Library art space is a haven for local artists, and the community garden offers kai for the community to harvest. Pātaka Kākano, the seed library is a wonderful collaboration with Ngā Hapu o Ōtaki.
