Te Pātaka Kōrero o Moerā | Moerā Neighbourhood Hub

In 2024 the new resilient and sustainable Neighbourhood Hub in Moerā opened. The new hub is flexible, inclusive and welcoming, while also connecting to the surrounding community facilities.

The design of the building acknowledges the Moerā Neighbourhood Hub Cultural Narrative, gifted from Mana Whenua, which reflects the significance of of Moerā’s location between a major mahinga kai (cultivation field) and the historic battleground of Pū-harakeke-tapu (Hutt Park). Purposely situated near the meeting point of Te Awa Kairangi River and Te Awamutu and Waiwhetū streams – essential routes in a maritime trade network – Moerā Neighbourhood Hub represents the tapestry of cultures that now exist in the area.

Moerā Neighbourhood Hub provides access to library collections and community services and programming, internet and computer access, printing, scanning and photocopying.
