About Te Ara Ātea
One of Selwyn Libraries’ four sites, Te Ara Ātea sits at the heart of Rolleston, one of the fastest growing towns in New Zealand.
It is a multi-functional space, which responds to the diverse needs of its growing community. Along with a well-resourced modern library, Te Ara Ātea contains performance and play spaces, art and heritage exhibitions, a café, and areas for people to work and connect. Spaces can be booked for meetings, presentations and performances.
Te Ara Ātea means ‘the unobstructed trail to the world and beyond’. The name was gifted by Te Taumutu Rūnanga and expresses a notion that this is a place for learning, gathering, connecting, and exploring through lifelong learning.
