Te Ohomauri o Kirikiriroa, Hamilton City Libraries have been an essential part of life for Hamilton Kirikiriroa for over 150 years. Libraries exist to help people find their place in the hapori (community), provide access to reliable information and services, and help people connect through the koorero (stories) they love.
Dinsdale Library - Te Tiwha O Pareiiriwhare services the Northwestern suburbs of Hamilton. Situated in the shopping complex closest to the roundabout (same side of the road as the Police station). Access is via Whatawhata and Dinsdale Roads.
Te Tiwha O Pareiiriwhare was the ancient name for the Dinsdale Hills, the ancient western boundary between the lands of Ngaati Ngamurikaitaua and Ngaati Kooura – sub-tribes of Ngaati Wairere. Pareiiriwhare was a land-dwelling taniwha; its spine made up the ridge lines of the hills that overlook the suburb of Dinsdale.
