The opening of the new Te Ara Ātea library and cultural facility in Rolleston in December 2021 has provided a sustained boost to library usage in the Selwyn District, not only more than doubling the number of visits to the former Rolleston Library and Service Centre over the three years since it opened, but also fostering a steady growth in visits to the Lincoln Library while visits to the Leeston and Darfield Libraries remained steady.
The opening of Te Ara Ātea amply demonstrates the positive impact that a new library can have not only for the immediate community but more widely across the District.
